School Strike 4 Climate Manawatū
School Strike 4 Climate Manawatū is a branch of a worldwide youth movement of young people mobilising to demand action on climate change.
School Strike 4 Climate (SS4C) was begun in August 2018 by Greta Thunberg, who at age 15 started spending her school days outside the Swedish parliament holding up a sign reading Skolstrejk för klimatet (School strike for climate). This grew into a worldwide movement of school students, united by their concern about our planet. They temporarily sacrifice their education in order to save their future, demanding that politicians take their future seriously and treat climate change for what it is - a crisis. SS4C demands urgent action to move New Zealand beyond fossil fuels and get the job done of moving us to 100% renewable energy for all.
